STANFORD, Calif. (April 6, 2024) – Washington State put the tying run on base in the ninth inning but Stanford held on for a 3-1 win at Sunken Diamond Saturday afternoon.
WSU (16-13, 6-8 Pac-12) scored a run in the eighth inning and brought the go-ahead run to the plate in the ninth inning but the Stanford (13-15, 6-5 Pac-12) bullpen held off the Cougar rally with a game-ending groundout. Washington State starter struck out four and allowed three runs while working into the seventh inning. Third baseman had an RBI-double in the eighth inning.
Stanford starter Christian Lin struck out eight in eight innings and took had his no-hitter broken up in the eighth inning by a single before Cramer doubled in a run.
