Cougars in Fifth After First Day at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wisc. – The Washington State Men's Golf team posted an opening-round score of even-par, 288, and sit in fifth place following the first day of play Sunday at the Badger Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin on the par-72, 7,286-yard University Ridge Golf Course.

Host Wisconsin leads the field at 8-under, followed by Illinois State (-6), Northern Illinois (-5) and Long Beach State (-2).

Junior Sam Renner led WSU during the first round, posting a three-under, 69, to finish tied for third after 18 holes. Renner's round included an eagle on the par-5, second, along with two birdies and a bogey.
