Monstrous raindrops came down in the 100-plus degree heat at Lewiston.
Thunderclaps resonated over the Sacajawea Junior High fields in Lewiston, Idaho, on Thursday, providing impressive accompaniment to Washington State’s football practice.
The lightning, however, proved problematic.
The NCAA recommends that players and coaches leave the field and enter a safe site by the time lightning is within six miles of a practice or game site. So, with monstrous raindrops coming down in the 100-plus degree heat and thunder all around, the Cougars took a break.
Coach Mike Leach didn’t seem to mind much.
