Cougars Hold First Fall Scrimmage

LEWISTON, Idaho – Washington State football wrapped up its week in Lewiston with its first scrimmage of the fall Sunday, working through 90-plus plays at Sacajawea Junior High School.

The Cougars offense tossed five touchdowns and did not the ball over while the defense tallied 10 sacks. A young receiver highlighted the day for WSU as freshman wideout Tavares Martin Jr. capped his first week of practice in the Crimson and Gray with an impressive performance, making seven receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Luke Falk completed 16-of-21 pass attempts for 144 yards and two touchdowns (7, 18), redshirt-freshman Peyton Bender went 17-of-28 for 184 yards including one 11-yard touchdown and freshman Tyler Hilinski finished the day 15-of-18 for 168 yards and two scores (11, 20).
