DENTON, Texas – Washington State captured the opening doubles point but could not capitalize on the early advantage as Kansas State won four of six singles matches for a 4-3 victory Saturday at the Waranch Tennis Complex. With the loss the Cougars fall to 6-3 on the season.
In doubles play, WSU's No. 2 pair of and pulled out a 7-6 victory over Mellie Stretton and Ana Garcia Navas to clinch the opening point. After getting a break at 5-5, the duo dropped a set point in the next game, which forced a tiebreaker, where WSU won 7-5.
