In Case You Missed It ...
STANFORD, Calif. – A slow start proved to be too much for Washington State (7-11, 2-5) to overcome on the road against No. 6/7 Stanford (16-1, 6-0) as the Cardinal remained perfect in Pac-12 play with an 85-64 win over the Cougars Sunday afternoon at Maples Pavilion. After scoring the first basket of the game, the Cougs could not get anything to drop as the Cardinal used a pair of double-digit runs in the opening 10 minutes of play to sprint out to a big lead they would never relinquish. Despite picking up their defensive pressure in the second quarter and holding the Stanford offense in check the Cougars could not take advantage and chip into the Cardinal lead as WSU's offensive woes continued into the halftime break with just finding openings to attack the defense.
