PULLMAN, Wash. – The Washington State women’s basketball team struggled to find a rhythm against the University of Washington Tuesday night at Beasley Coliseum, falling to the Huskies 79-64. The Cougars were led by senior Mariah Cooks who scored a career-high 20 points to lead WSU. Washington State’s normally stingy defense was unable to find an answer for the country’s leading scorer in Husky junior Kelsey Plum. Plum notched 33 points in the contest to lead all scorers.
“Obviously, it was a frustrating night for us to open conference play,” WSU Head Coach June Daugherty said.
