SEATTLE – The Washington State women’s soccer team opened its 2015 season with a 3-1 victory over the Seattle Redhawks at Championship Field in Seattle, Friday. All four goals came in the first half of the match, with two of the Cougars’ three goals scored off of set pieces.
“I’m very proud of this group,” first-year head coach Todd Shulenberger said. “We came out early and had two great opportunities on set pieces. Getting the lead opened everything up for us. We have to carry momentum now. At midnight this is over and it’s on to Idaho next.
