LAHAINA, Hawaii – Washington State tennis picked up four singles victories Saturday to conclude play at the Hawaii Spring Invitational at the Royal Lahaina Tennis Ranch on the island of Maui.
The three-team non-scoring tournament, featuring host Hawaii, Washington State and Kansas, consists of singles and doubles matches each day. Opening the afternoon with doubles, WSU captured one victory in three matches. Freshmen and had little trouble with Hawaii's Saga Shermis and Sophia Storch, winning 6-1. WSU's and dropped a 7-6 decision to Kansas' Maria Toran Ribes and Tatiana Nikolaeva while and fell to Hawaii's Cindy Nguyen and Klara Pribylova, 6-1.
