STANFORD, Calif. -- Six Cougars competed at the prestigious Payton Jordan Invitational Sunday at Stanford University’s Cobb Track and Angell Field.
Matthew Swanson ran a season-best time in the 800m of 1 minute, 50.48 seconds, for third place in the men’s Section 6.
Forrest Shaffer finished eighth in the 3000m steeplechase Section 4 in a time of 8:53.28.
In the men’s 5000m, Michael Williams ran a time of 14:43.59 for 16th place in Section 4 while John Whelan’s time of 14:42.34 was 21st in Section 3. Sam Levora ran with Williams in Section 4 but did not finish the race.
