PULLMAN, Wash. (May 18, 2023) – Washington State put the tying run on third base in the tenth inning but Stanford ended the rally with a double play as the Cougars dropped the series-opener to No. 3 Stanford 7-6 at Bailey-Brayton Field Thursday evening.
The Cougars dropped to 29-21 overall and 10-17 in Pac-12 Conference play after Stanford (35-14, 21-7 Pac-12) tied the game with a three-run home run in the seventh and hit a pair of solo home runs in the tenth inning.
WSU received five hits including a pair of home runs from while added three hits including a homer and also homered.
