SPOKANE, Wash. (April 18, 2023) – Washington State received three-hit efforts from and while earned his first career save in the 4-2 win at Gonzaga Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars improved to 22-13 overall after taking the lead with a two-run fourth and a run in the fifth before the Spokane native Cottrell escaped bases-loaded-nobody out jam with allowing just one run before firing a perfect ninth for the win. Fellow Spokane native doubled twice, tripled, drove in a run and scored a run while Brown added three singles along with an RBI and run scored.
Six Cougar pitchers worked as earned the win after recording scoreless fourth and fifth innings.
