Cougars can't keep up with Wildcats, lose 79-64

Arizona sweeps the regular season series as the Cougars see their losing streak extend to eight games.

The Washington State men's basketball team dropped their eighth consecutive game Wednesday night, falling to the #23/20 Arizona Wildcats by a score of 79-64.

The Cougars opened the contest with some energy that has been missing in recent weeks, as Ike Iroegbu scored the first two points of the game after a messy tip-off win by the Wildcats. At one point in the first half, the Cougs held a nine-point advantage over the visitors but their effort was still filled with mental lapses as that lead evaporated to a nine-point deficit at halftime.
