In Case You Missed It
WASHINGTON, D.C. – In a fight to advance to the third round of the NCAA Tournament, Washington State soccer (13-6-1) fell just short of a second-straight sweet 16 bid as top-seeded Georgetown (19-0-3) defeated the Cougars, 1-0, Friday in the nation's capital. The Hoyas remained one of two undefeated teams in the country thanks to a goal in the 10', making a header off the first corner of the game stick against a tough Cougar attack. Knifing through the WSU defense, Meaghan Nally got her head on the end of a short ball by Grace Nguyen, finding the back of the net for the early strike.
