OJAI, Calif. – For the second time in five days, Washington State Tennis defeated Washington, this time by a 4-2 margin, in a first-round match Wednesday at the Pac-12 Tennis Championships at the Ojai Valley Tennis Club.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 8-14 on the season and advance to the Pac-12 quarterfinals to face No. 2 seed UCLA. Washington falls to 14-11 on the season.
Heading into singles play, WSU trailed 1-0 after doubles but that mattered not to the Cougars. WSU captured four of the first five singles matches completed to secure the victory.
