LOS ANGELES – The Washington State women's soccer team (8-5-4, 2-4-3) fell to No. 1 UCLA, 1-0, Thursday night at Wallis Annenberg Stadium in Los Angeles. The Cougars held the top-ranked Bruins scoreless for the first half, before UCLA found the game-winning goal in the 62nd minute.
The Cougar defense headlined the first half, limiting the Bruins' high-powered offense to three shots on target and three first-half saves for sophomore goalkeeper Nadia Cooper. Cooper made a season-high nine saves in the match, bringing her total to 101 career saves, tied for 10th-most in program history.
