Cougar Rowing Finishes Strong in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Washington State University women’s rowing team faced rival Gonzaga in dual action Saturday morning at the Head of the Spokane on the Spokane River. The Cougars raced their second varsity eight, five varsity four and three novice eight boats.

The WSU varsity four A boat (coxswain – Rebecca Burns, Isabella Watt, Lucie Weissova, Luiza-Mariya Rusinova, Savannah Davison) won the varsity four event, recording a time of 18:45. The Cougars’ time was eight seconds faster than Gonzaga’s A boat with a time of 18:53.

WSU’s varsity four B (coxswain – Jenna Mangiagli, Kotryna Lasiate, Jordan Watson, Morgan Cathrea, Kayla Wakulich) recorded the fourth fastest time at 19:13, just nine seconds off Gonzaga’s varsity four B (19:04) boat.
