PULLMAN, Wash. (April 3, 2023) – Five Washington State pitchers combined for a two-hitter and retired the final 22 batters in a 6-1 victory over BYU at Bailey-Brayton Field Monday afternoon.
Washington State improved to 18-9 overall with their fourth straight win after scoring twice in the first and three times in the second inning. The Cougars matched a season-high with six doubles as and each collected three hits including two doubles a piece while added two hits.
WSU starting pitcher allowed a two-out RBI-double in the second inning but ended the frame with a groundout that started the steak of retiring 22-consecutive Brigham Young batters to end the game.
