Cougar Golfers Excel at Amateur Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. – Six current, future and recently graduated Washington State women’s golf student-athletes finished in the top-12 of the Washington State Women’s Amateur Championship and Oregon Women’s Golf Amateur, respectively, last week.

Three Cougars took home top-two honors as rising-sophomore Alivia Brown (Gig Harbor, Wash.) won the Washington State Women’s Amateur in decisive fashion with consecutive rounds of 1-under par 71 each of the three days. She was the only golfer to finish under par on any of the days, notching an 8-shot win over second-place finisher and WSU rising-junior, Cherokee Kim (DuPont, Wash.). Last year at the event, Brown finished second to Jordan Ferreira.
