Connor Halliday surprised many with an abrupt retirement earlier this summer. He has since decided to return to football and has landed in the CFL with the BC Lions. He is currently a member of the practice squad. Generally when American players head up north for the first time, they start on the practice squad to get acclimated to the Canadian game.
The Lions head coach is a familiar name to Cougar fans. Former Cal head coach Jeff Tedford has taken the reigns this year after a stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It may have been his familiarity with the Pac-12 that led him to pick up Halliday.
