Washington State’s one sided love affair with ESPN’s College Gameday looks like it will last into the foreseeable future. Thursday, the network announced that show will be traveling not to an actual college campus next weekend, but instead to Times Square in New York City.
The question that many seem to be asking is simply why? There is no major college football team in New York (sorry Columbia) and college football is not a major cultural event in the city. The beauty of Gameday is how it highlights college towns across the country and the ways different fan bases celebrate their team.
