PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State cross country freshmen Zenah Cheptoo and Evans Kurui each won West Coast Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week, with Kurui also picking up USTFCCCA Athlete of the Week. It is the second-consecutive competition the pair of freshmen have swept the WCC Runners of the Week awards.
Kurui continued his dominant start to the season in the WSU Cougar Classic. The freshman finished claimed the top spot in the Cougar Classic, finishing his 8k in 22:46.72, nearly 55 seconds faster than the runner up and broke the course record by 20 seconds.
