On Sunday, the WSU women’s basketball squad unofficially tipped off their season with a dominating exhibition win over Saint Martin’s in Beasley Coliseum. Sophomore star Charlisse Leger-Walker was one of four Cougar players to score in double-figures during the 89-38 victory. WSU fans are expecting big things this season from the youngest of the Leger-Walker duo. And they’re not the only ones that have set high expectations for her this year.
On Tuesday, Charlisse Leger-Walker was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award watch list by the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. The award is given out each season to the best shooting guard in the nation.
