AZUSA, California – Washington State Track and Field freshman Caroline Jepkorir broke the WSU school record in the 3000m Steeplechase Wednesday evening at the Bryan Clay Invitational at the Azusa Pacific Track.
Jepkorir, in just her third collegiate steeplechase, blazed to a time of 10-minutes, 5.60 seconds, more than two seconds faster than WSU's previous record holder Caroline Jerotich, who ran a 10:07.70 in Sacramento, Calif., in 2023. Jepkorir finished sixth in the first heat of the invitational event, and 19th overall.
In the Men's 3000m Steeplechase, senior Kelvin Limo took a bad fall in his heat but rallied back to finish in a time of 8:42.
