The Washington State Cougars notch their fifth offensive line commitment of the 2018 class with Blake McDonald faxing in his letter of intent. The Danville, California native is listed as an offensive guard and will likely redshirt his freshman season.
McDonald is listed at 6-foot-4 and 295 pounds by 247sports, which ranks him as a composite three-star recruit. That’s pretty much a prototypical Mike Leach offensive line recruit: tall with enough frame to put on more weight to play in the wide splits in the Air Raid offense.
McDonald, who was originally committed to UCLA, chose WSU over offers from numerous other Power Five institutions, including WSU’s Pac-12 foes the Arizona State Sun Devils, Oregon State Beavers, Utah Utes, Colorado Buffaloes and California Golden Bears.
