Bernard Lagat is headed to 5th Olympics

Related Topics: Bernard Lagat, 5000 metres

Bernard Lagat continues to defy age and make history. Lagat won the 5,000 meters on Sunday to clinch a berth in the Rio Olympics. The 41-year-old will run in his FIFTH Olympics. That is assuming he isn't banned for testing positive for being a robot before then.

Lagat has two Olympic medals on his resume already, winning bronze in 2000 and silver in 2004. He will now run for another medal, 16 years since winning his first. Even without a medal, Lagat will become the oldest American to ever run in the Olympics. Although don't tell him that.
