In the race for an open seat on the Bellevue City Council, biotech professional Vandana Slatter was leading Planning Commissioner Michelle Hilhorst and Parks Commissioner Sherry Grindeland in Tuesday night returns.
For Position 5, Slatter led with 43 percent to Hilhorst’s 36 percent and Grindeland’s 21 percent.
In the second council race on the primary ballot, incumbent Jennifer Robertson was overwhelming the field, with 73 percent of the vote. Her two challengers, Lyndon Heywood Bill Hirt each had 11 percent in the Position 7 contest.
The top two vote-getters in each race advance to the November general election.
