PLOVDIV, Bulgaria – Washington State University rising-senior Ieva Adomaviciute captured the gold medal in the women’s single sculls, while her classmates Morgan Cathrea and Nicole Hare earned silver in the women’s four, this past weekend at the 2015 Under 23 World Rowing Championships.
A native of Kaunas, Lithuania, Adomaviciute, represented her country, racing in the women’s single sculls, jumping out to an early lead in the event. Adomaviciute led the entire way to capture first place, finishing five-seconds ahead of Lovisa Claesson of Sweden with a time of 7:40.52. Claesson clocked a time of 7:45.
