The Washington Redskins focused on the defensive side of the football in the firstthree rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft. The team added talent at defensive line, rush linebacker, and cornerback and their defense is looking much stronger than it did in 2016. With their first Day 3 pick, the Redskins elected to go a different route by selecting Oklahoma running back Samaje Perine.
Perine is one of my favorite running backs in this draft. He runs with power, and has excellent size. Despite being 5-foot-10, he has a 235 pound frame. His ceiling was as a second round pick, so getting him their first fourth round pick was fantastic.
