Zimmermann signs with Tigers

After seven years in Washington, Jordan Zimmermann has found a new home. The right-hander has agreed to sign a free agent deal with the Detroit Tigers.

CBS Sports was first to report the news. Details of the contract have yet to surface.

Zimmermann, 29, holds a 3.32 ERA in 178 career starts. In 2015, he went 13-10 with a 3.66 ERA and 164 strikeouts in 201 2/3 innings.

Zimmermann was one of the Nationals’ first home-grown stars. He joined the franchise as a second round pick in 2007 and blossomed into a two-time All-Star.
