This has not been a good weekend at home for the Washington Nationals, who had already lost a series to the San Diego Padres for the first time in three years even before the first pitch was thrown Sunday afternoon.
Before Sunday’s game, the Nationals placed first baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 10-day injured list with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. To take his place the Nationals summoned right-handed pitcher Erick Fedde of the Double-A Harrisburg Senators of the Eastern League.
Zimmerman, who is hitting .213, was replaced at first base on Sunday by lefty-hitting Matt Adams.
