WASHINGTON -- Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman was not in Tuesday's lineup against the Mets because of soreness in his left oblique, according to manager Matt Williams. Zimmerman is listed as day to day.
Zimmerman hurt the oblique while he was in the batters' box Monday against New York. He went 2-for-5 with a run scored in the game.
"We are trying to calm that down as much as we can today," Williams said.
It marks the second time in three games Zimmerman was not in the starting lineup because of an injury. He missed Sunday's game against the Braves because of a sore left foot.
