“That was a long day,” Davey Martinez said after the Nationals wrapped up their twin bill with the Braves in Truist Park.
After their win in the second game, the third-year skipper talked about winning a 10-9 game in which the whole team contributed.
“This was a huge team effort,” he said. “These guys came to play like they do every day. They saw the ball, they got good pitches to hit, and they hit the ball hard.
“It was huge. I’m proud of all these guys. These guys that don’t play every day they step up and they give you everything that they’ve got.
