While it appeared that Nationals’ manager Davey Martinez was just being cautious by taking Aaron Barrett out of last night’s game, after the veteran reliever, who’s fought back from a heck of a lot in his MLB career, struggled to throw strikes while dealing with unsure footing as he tried to plant his foot in his delivery, it turns out Barrett had an actual physical issue.
“He’s got a little tightness in his triceps,” Martinez said after the 14-3 loss to the Marlins.
“He wanted to stay in the game, and I couldn’t be able to live with myself if I left him in the game.
