Wire Taps: Nationals’ comeback win shocks Mets; Kurt Suzuki hits walk-off blast + Aaron Barrett gets call from Nats...

Davey Martinez kept getting applause from the fans in the Presidents Club in Nationals Park who stayed around for the manager’s post game press conference, after staying for around for an improbable comeback win even though the home team trailed 10-4 after eight and a half in D.C.

Martinez addressed the fans directly at the end of his talk with reporters.

“One more thing,” he said, pointing to the raucous bunch who remained, “26th man right there. Thank you. Thanks for hanging on, it was long, but we did it.”

He also told them the same thing he said he had to tell his team as they celebrated the 11-10 win in the clubhouse, go home and get some sleep, there’s a game to play at 1:05 PM today.
