Wire Taps: Nationals avoid arbitration with Anthony Rendon, Michael A. Taylor, and Tanner Roark

Anthony Rendon and the Washington Nationals avoided arbitration when they agreed on a 1-year/$12.3M deal for 2018 yesterday. That’s a significant raise from the $5.8M the 27-year-old infielder earned in 2017, when he put up a .301/.403/.533 line with 41 doubles and 25 home runs in 147 games and 605 plate appearances, finishing the year at a career-high 6.9 fWAR.

Unfortunately for the third baseman, and the Nats, and their fans, the 2017 campaign ended with another NLDS loss, the fourth for the Nationals in the last six seasons, and the third for Rendon, who wasn’t around for the 2012 postseason.
