ATLANTA -- Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth continues to get on base. He extended his on-base streak to 46 games Thursday against the Braves, tying the franchise record held by Rusty Staub.
Werth tied the record in the fifth inning when he doubled to the left-field corner off Braves right-hander Rob Whalen, scoring Pedro Severino to make it a 3-1 game.
Werth will have the opportunity to break the franchise record on Friday night when the Nationals face Braves righty Julio Teheran.
