Washington Nationals trade Brad Hand to Toronto Blue Jays for catcher Riley Adams

According to multiple reports this afternoon, the Washington Nationals have dealt closer Brad Hand to the Toronto Blue Jays in return for 25-year-old catcher Riley Adams, a 2017 third round pick by the Jays who made his MLB debut earlier this season.

The team has now made the deal official.

Hand, 31, signed a 1-year/$10.5M free agent deal with the Nationals this winter, and over 41 games this season, the 11-year veteran has saved 21 games in 26 opportunities, with a 3.59 ERA, 18 walks, 42 Ks, and a .203/.302/.353 line against in 42 23 IP.
