The Washington Nationals have agreed to trade third baseman Yunel Escobar to the Los Angeles Angels for pitcher Trevor Gott and another minor leaguer, a source told ESPN's Jim Bowden.
A nine-year veteran, Escobar spent just one season in Washington and batted .314 with nine home runs and 56 RBIs.
Though primarily a third baseman, Escobar can also play elsewhere in the infield, giving the Angels some flexibility if they are able to re-sign third baseman David Freese.
