Friday was yet another banner day for Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer.
The pitcher brought home two more Major League Baseball-sanctioned trophies to go along with his recent National League Cy Young award and his matching honor from the Internet Baseball Writers of America.
Scherzer claimed the esurance Award for Best Pitcher and Best Performance. More than an only media voted award, fans, front office staff, retired players and members of the Society of American Baseball Research, or SABR, had the chance to take part.
Beating out Cleveland Indians starter Corey Kluber and Boston Red Sox ace Rick Porcello for the honor, Scherzer capped his amazing 2016 campaign.
