Washington Nationals’ reliever Daniel Hudson is a “godsend” according to his new manager Davey Martinez...

Daniel Hudson, who was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for minor league right-hander Kyle Johnston last Wednesday, has stranded 26 of the 27 runners he inherited this season, for a low 3.7% IRS% (Inherited Runners Scored Percentage) on the season, and his new manager, Davey Martinez, told reporters on Sunday, after Hudson came in with two on and one out in Arizona and stranded both runners, that it was his poise and command in his appearances that allows him to have success.

The previous night, Hudson inherited a bases-loaded, two-out jam and got the final out of the inning in a blowout loss.
