Washington Nationals’ GM Mike Rizzo was clear from the start that they were taking a flyer on left-hander Dan Jennings to see if the 32-year-old, eight-year veteran could contribute something to the big league bullpen, which has been an issue from the start of the season.
“We are going to see what he looks like and get some appearances under his belt and we’ll have to extend him out, then go back-to-backs,” Rizzo explained after signing Jennings, who was released by the Los Angeles Angels on March 26th, “and see if he can handle the rigors of a major league bullpen.
