WASHINGTON – Many of the top pitching prospects in the Nationals’ system have yet to advance above the Single-A level.
Some of those on the roster to start Instructional League this fall in Florida that fit that bill include Tim Cate, Cade Cavalli, Mason Denaburg and Jackson Rutledge.
But two pitchers on the roster who reached Double-A Harrisburg in 2019 were right-handers Steven Fuentes and Jackson Tetreault.
Both were in Florida earlier this month but headed elsewhere, according to pitching coordinator Brad Holman.
Fuentes went five innings in a league in his native Panama on Wednesday and allowed one earned run.
