Washington Nationals’ prospect Victor Robles named AFL Fall Stars Game MVP...

With a 1 for 3 night at the plate, a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI, Victor Robles, the top prospect in the Washington Nationals’ organization and No. 2 overall prospect in all of baseball according to MLB.com’s Pipeline scouts, earned the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game MVP award.

Robles, 20, walked in his first at bat in the AFL’s showcase, stole second base, moved up on a single, and scored on a groundout to put the East up 1-0 early in what ended up a 4-2 win.

After grounding out in the third, and striking out in the fifth, Robles hit a game-tying RBI single to short left in his final at bat of the night in the eighth, knotting things up at 2-2 before scoring the go-ahead run on an RBI hit by now-former Nationals’ prospect Sheldon Neuse, who was dealt to the Oakland Athletics in the deal for A’s relievers Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson this past July.
