The presence of Adrián Sanchez in the Washington Nationals’ clubhouse today, in advance of their matchup with the Miami Marlins, was the first, obvious clue that there was would be a roster move coming.
After a number of reporters noticed Sanchez was in D.C., the Nationals announced that he was coming up with Max Scherzer, who was named the National League’s Pitcher of the Month this afternoon, going on the Paternity List as he and his wife await the birth of their second child.
Sanchez, 28, has appeared in 16 games this season, going 4 for 17 (235/.
