With Max Scherzer unable to return from the Injured List in time to make the start tonight, the Washington Nationals were expected to turn to right-hander Austin Voth in the finale with the Atlanta Braves in SunTrust Park.
That plan was up in the air as well as of Saturday afternoon, however, when skipper Davey Martinez told reporters that Voth experienced some tenderness in his right shoulder while throwing a bullpen session between starts.
“Well, now we don’t know what’s going to happen,” Martinez told reporters, as quoted by MASN’s Mark Zuckerman, on Saturday afternoon, before the third game of the four-game series.
