Washington’s Nationals started the final homestand of the regular season with home runs in each of the first three innings, with Adam Eaton, Yan Gomes, and Trea Turner each hitting a solo shot off of Philadelphia Phillies’ right-hander Zach Eflin to make it 3-0 after three in D.C.
The home team added two more in the fifth before the visitors got on the board with one run off Patrick Corbin in the starter’s sixth and final inning of work in what ended up a 7-2 win.
