SYRACUSE (AAA International League): The Chiefs (22-20) split a four-game series with the Norfolk Tides, winning the first two games on Thursday and Friday before getting dumped over the weekend.
In a 7-4 win on Thursday, Brian Goodwin continued his hot hand, smacking his fourth homer of the season -- a grand slam -- as part of a 2 for 5 day, raising his average to .311 for the season. Matt Skole added three hits, while Scott Sizemore and Caleb Ramsey were both 2 for 4.
