SYRACUSE (AAA International League): The Chiefs defeated the Indianapolis Indians 3-2 on Monday night in the first game of a four-game series with the International League West foe. The win stopped a two-game losing skid for the Chiefs.
Syracuse (18-12) started the scoring in the second inning thanks to Brian Goodwin. After two quick outs, Goodwin turned on a Jameson Taillon curveball and drove it over the right-field fence for a solo home run, giving the Chiefs a 1-0 lead.
