Washington Nationals’ Michael A. Taylor to miss “a significant amount of time” with sprained left knee and hip...

Erick Fedde appreciated the effort by Michael A. Taylor on a diving catch in the outfield in Ft. Myers, FL’s CenturyLink Sports Complex, telling reporters, as quoted by MASN’s Mark Zuckerman after the game on Thursday that it’s great to see your defense laying out for a ball the way the center fielder did, but Taylor injured his left knee and hip on the play and now the 27-year-old is going to miss “a significant amount time” with a sprain of the knee and hip.

Taylor talked this morning, before an MRI, which revealed the extent of the damage, about his initial reaction to the injury, when he convinced manager Davey Martinez and Nationals’ trainer, Paul Lessard, to let him stay in the game, then struggled to run in from center after the inning came to an end.
